Construction
We realize that purchasing furniture can be difficult and confusing. This is especially so because you can not see the inside of the product. We believe that our product is constructed for durability, longevity, and comfort. The following are some of the most important components.
1. Kiln-dried Frames : All of our frames are engineered and constructed using hardwoods. Hardwoods have a close, dense grain and kiln-drying is similar to oven drying… it pulls most of the moisture from the wood so that it won’t warp or twist over time. Frames that are not kiln-dried may mildew and develop an odor. Our frames are constructed using corner braces, glue, high pressure staples, and screws.
2. No Sag Sinuous Wire Springs : Based on our research and testing, a base of arched 8-1/2 gauge sinuous wire springs securely fastened together provides outstanding support and comfort. We know from industry and our own experience that this type of base springing will provide the ultimate in long lasting comfort.
3. Cushions-Standard : Every cushion is engineered specifically for each product to ensure correct seat to back relationship. We use a high resilient foam core that is then wrapped with multiple foam and polyester fiber layers to ensure comfort and durability. All of our cushions meet residential California codes for flame retardancy.
4. Cushions-Down : Every cushion is engineered specifically for each product to ensure correct seat to back relationship. We use a high density foam core that is then wrapped in a feather-locked ticking envelope. The envelope is filled with a blend of approximately 90% White Goose feather and 10% White Goose down to ensure comfort and durability. No ticking is 100% leak proof, you may occasionally see a small curly feather sneak through the ticking. No need to be alarmed, this is perfectly normal.
5. Cushions- Trillium : Every seat cushion is engineered specifically for each product to ensure premium support and comfort. We begin with a high density foam core which is wrapped with a feather locked ticking envelope filled with Trillium fiber. Trillium is a man made product which mimics the characteristics of natural down, but is hypoallergenic. It is resilient and provides a luxurious look and feel.
6. Mechanisms : Our contract quality Sleeper Mechanisms are made of tubular steel construction with a woven deck attached by helical springs and supported by cross wires. Our Swivel Chair Mechanisms are made of heavy gauge steel and contain carbon-grade steel ball bearings.
7. Mattresses : We use a premium 5-1/2” innerspring pillow top mattress. It is covered with a quilted damask ticking that is hypo-allergenic.
Avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight. All fabric will fade over time. Darker colors may fade dramatically in direct sunlight.
Vacuum upholstery weekly (using the upholstery attachment and crevice tool for your vacuum) to prevent permanent fabric soiling and abrasions from crumbs, dust, etc.
Periodic cleaning by a professional upholstery cleaning service is recommended. Annual cleaning is suggested, but this may vary depending on use.
Always blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent white cloth.
